Just as a thief catches a household by surprise, Jesus will catch the unbelieving world by surprise when He returns in judgment. How is the second coming going to be like a thief in the night? The key element of Jesus’ comparison is that no one will know when He will return. Jesus says it will happen “after the tribulation of those days” (verse 29, ESV), a description that distinguishes this event from the rapture, which happens before the tribulation. This is a day of divine retribution featuring astronomical upheaval and the visible “sign of the Son of Man” in the heavens (Matthew 24:29–30). Paul calls it “the day of the Lord” in 1 Thessalonians 5. In Matthew 24, Jesus speaks of His second coming at the end of the tribulation. 1Thes 5:2 "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night at an unawares, and the Lord himself in that day will so come, Rev_3:3 respect is had not to the character of the thief, nor to the end of his coming but to the manner of it, in the dark, indiscernible, suddenly, and when not thought of and looked for and such will be the coming of Christ, it will be sudden, and unknown before hand, and when least thought of and expected. 1Th 5:3 When people say, "Everything is quiet and safe," then suddenly destruction will hit them! It will come as suddenly as the pains that come upon a woman in labor, and people will not escape.

The word of God does not say it like that. Jesus is gonna bust through those clouds any minute now, all the conditions seem right for his return. When things begin to get out of the norm that we are use to living in, the country seems to be in a crisis it is at this time that people will begin to talk.
